Flooding Reported In South Trinidad

Several areas in South Trinidad were affected by flood waters brought by heavy rainfall between Sunday night and Monday morning. One area that was severely impacted was Gasparillo. Councillor for the Gasparillo/Bonaventure area, Safraz Ali, says the Gasparillo River needs to be dredged. According to Councillor Ali, many parts of Gasparillo were affected, including Nanlal Avenue, Gopaul Avenue and Bedoe Street. He said while the area has experienced flash flooding in the past, the situation has worsened as the water is now coming into residents' homes. Meanwhile, one resident explained that she assisted her neighbour whose house was completely flooded. The Barrackpore community also came under heavy flood waters.
