3,997 Food Cards Distributed to Members of Parliament

The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services has distributed a total of 3,997 food cards to Members of Parliament for various constituencies across the country. The latest update comes from Leader of Government Business, Camille Robinson Regis, who responded to a question in the House of Representatives, on behalf of the Minister of Social Development and Family Services. Minister Robinson Regis explained, the figure represents households with children who would usually benefit from the school feeding programme. She added the food card distribution was intended to upkeep food support for the nation's children. Minister Robinson Regis said the Food Card initiative for children in the school feeding programme, has since been replaced by the government's Market Box programme.
