Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, is foreseeing challenges with the buy-in of the COVID-19 vaccine by some citizens.
In the past week, two pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer and Moderna, have reported 90-95% success rates with trial COVID-19 vaccines.
On Wednesday, Minister Deyalsingh said the Moderna vaccine was part of the WHO's Covax Facility Programme, of which T&T is a member.
At Thursday's Opening Ceremony of the National Health Research Conference hosted by the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Minister Deyalsingh said he expects there to be a kickback from the anti-vaxxers once the vaccine is launched.
Trinidad and Tobago has so far invested $66 million for the purchase of 462,000 vaccines, enough for 33% of the population.
