La Brea Charity Group Donates Devices To Students

Community spirit, generosity of heart, and pride in their community are just some of the attributes that motivated a group of La Brea residents, local and international, to form a charity in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The La Brea Internationals was established two months ago. Its members were able to purchase and hand over 11 devices to students at La Brea's Brighton Anglican Primary School on Friday. Herself a Primary School teacher, the organisation's Public Relations Officer, Reena Samuel, endorsed this new method of teaching the Curriculum. Ms. Samuel explained that Brighton Anglican was chosen as the first recipient for a charitable donation after the group conducted a Needs Assessment Exercise. Meanwhile, Acting Principal, Garth Suite, thanked the group for their generosity while noting that the institution has been taking steps to ensure that their students who are preparing for the Secondary Entrance Assessment would be well prepared. Mr. Suite added that though most of the SEA students did not have devices of their own, their parents gave up their own cell phones, tablets, and laptops to ensure that they were not left behind.
