Zesser Feters To Be Charged

Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, has confirmed those held at a party in the Caroni area over the weekend will be charged for breach of COVID-19 Public Health Regulations. Around 4am on Sunday, police arrived at a warehouse located at River Branch Trace, off Caroni South Bank Road, and discovered a party in progress. Those in attendance amounted to just about 250 people. All partygoers were reportedly detained by police and are expected to be charged under Paragraph 4(d) of the Public Heath Coronavirus legislation. The Commissioner also responded to public concerns about the recent action of the police. According to Commissioner Griffith, people need to understand the law. He added that he is not responsible for drafting the law, but rather, he and members of the Police Service are only here to enforce it. In response to another event, this time a wedding held on the weekend in the Valsayn area, the Commissioner explained there's no action the police could take when the events are private.
