Eliminating Domestic Violence Against Women

Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, is encouraging women to report their situations of abuse, and seek help through the National Family Services Division (NFSD). Minister Cox says domestic violence, coupled with COVID-19, has triggered associated mental illnesses in women such as anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts and tendencies. She says often times these women do not possess the coping skills to deal with same. Minister Cox says persons can contact the NFSD for the necessary advice and guidance. She says once willing to be counselled, the NFSD also offers services to the perpetrators of the abuse in an effort to help them change their habits.
