Growing A Manufacturing Business for Export

Minister of Trade and Industry Paula Gopee-Scoon is urging small and medium enterprise manufacturers, to take advantage of available opportunities to grow their business into the export market, including Government's Grant Fund Facility, which is administered by ExporTT. She notes that over 50% of non-energy exporters are Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, and over 85% of that figure are involved in the manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, the Minister also gave some insight into how the TT$50 million programme, for overseas market promotion and development, announced by the Finance Minister in the fiscal 2021 budget, would be spent. Minister Gopee-Scoon said over the last five years, this country's average annual non-energy exports totalled TT$13.6 billion, representing approximately 21% of total exports. She was speaking at a webinar on "Growing a Manufacturing Business for Export".
