Illegal Immigrant Tests Positive For COVID-19

A Venezuelan immigrant, who recently illegally entered this country, has tested Positive for COVID-19. According to a release from the Public Affairs Department of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, the illegal immigrants, who arrived at the Heliport in Chaguaramas on November 29th, were all tested for COVID-19. The release added that the test results have been returned, confirming one Positive case for the virus. The TTDF says the person has been placed separately from everyone else in the Infirmary Department at the Heliport, and is currently asymptomatic. The latest development therefore means COVID-19 protocols will be observed, and all persons listed as Primary Contacts of the COVID-Positive migrant, will be treated as Positive as well. The Defence Force says those people will be quarantined for the next 14 days. All visits from other persons to the Heliport is now restricted.
