NP: Fuel Contamination In Tobago Contained

The Trinidad and Tobago Petroleum Marketing Company say it's aware of fuel contamination that occurred at Orange Hill, Tobago and assures the public that the contamination has been contained. Via a release, NP acknowledged the incident occurred on Saturday, December 5th at the Orange Hill Service Station, and also confirmed the contamination is isolated to that service station. NP says as an immediate measure, sale of fuel at this Service Station has been suspended, and technicians dispatched to the site to extract the product and take remedial action. The company assures a full analysis of the matter is being conducted and is hopeful things will be resolved as quickly as possible. NP is asking affected customers, who believe their vehicles may be compromised, to first lodge a complaint at the service station, and provide a fuel sample. Affected customers are also asked to contact NP's Crown Point Tobago office at 639-8561.
