Angostura Workers Back On The Job

Employees of Angostura Limited have returned to work after the company and the Seamen and Waterfront Workers Trade Union, SWWTU, reached agreement on the payment of bonuses. The workers downed tools yesterday in protest over a last-minute decision by the company not to pay bonuses this year. Following talks between the company and the SWWTU today the matter was resolved. Executive Manager-Corporate Services of Angostura, Rahim Mohammed said agreement was reached for an ex-gratia payment to the employees, which is in addition to their full December salaries.
