Masters Kaiso Tent

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and its restrictions, calypsonians of the Masters Kaiso Tent continue to make efforts to provide entertainment. On Saturday, in a virtual concert, the performers took a trip down memory lane, reminding us of what a traditional Tobago Christmas entails. But that was not all, as the calypsonians also treated patrons to music of various genres. They began the night serenading viewers to melodious Christmas carols, and then turned the beat up, taking it closer to home with Parang-Soca and calypsos in the COVID context. Manager of the Tent, Sherwin Cunningham, said though COVID-19 has halted many of their events, the kaisonians wanted to continue practicing the art, while keeping the Christmas spirit alive. Following the Christmas season, Carnival would normally be next on their agenda. While there will be no Carnival come 2021, the calypsonians continue to make plans.
