Relief is expected soon for residents along the North Coast Road, Maracas, who have suffered disruption in both their water and electricity supplies. Heavy winds on Sunday morning knocked down a tree that caused the disruption in a power supply connector line, affecting about 250 households. The disruption in electricity affected the water supply. Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonzales, along with his Technical Advisor, Anthony Bartholomew, and St. Ann's East MP, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, visited the area today to inspect the restoration works by T&TEC. A release from the Ministry of Public Utilities says T&TEC has been working assiduously and so far, restored power to 90% of villages with pockets of households still being affected. The Ministry says T&TEC expects full power to be restored to all communities by the end of today and the water supply should be normalised shortly after.
