Former TTFA President David John-Williams is against mortgaging or selling the Home of Football in Balmain, Couva. The US$2.5 million facility was built under the John-Williams administration, and opened in November 2019. With the TTFA in an estimated debt of $70 million, the Normalization Committee is considering mortgaging or selling the facility to offset expenses. However, John-Williams told TTT Sports that the Committee should leverage the asset against getting money. The Home of Football contains a 72-room facility, built to serve as a hotel for local and visiting teams. John-Williams says the facility could save the TTFA $4 million annually in hotel fees.
