The Government of Trinidad and Tobago will continue to participate actively in the meetings and deliberations convened by the Organization of American States (OAS), including voting on matters and resolutions as required, and as appropriate. In a media release, Minister of Foreign and CARCICOM Affairs, Dr. Amery Browne, said the OAS will continue to determine participation in voting and the country's voting position at the OAS, based on the Government's stance on the issues under consideration by the Organization's members. The release added that this country will not participate in, or vote in support of any motion put forward or sponsored by, or on behalf of a purported representative of Venezuela or of any other country that is improperly seated at meetings of the OAS.
