The Prisons Officers Association (POA) is calling on the government to settle all outstanding negotiations for their members. They held a news conference outside the Golden Grove Prison on Monday, to highlight their concerns. POA President Ceron Richards is frustrated that negotiations for 3 bargaining periods are at a standstill. Among the other issues the POA wants addressed urgently are, the non-payment of overtime monies due since 2011, the dilapidated state of the fleet of vehicles, and the dilapidated state of accommodation for the officers.
