SEA Assessment Changes 2021-2023

The revised assessment framework for the Secondary Entrance Assessment 2021 to 2023 has been released by the Ministry of Education. The document contains revised guidelines which acknowledge the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the education system. Several adjustments have been proposed including: - Prior disclosure of the type of text that will be administered for the 2021 SEA English Language Arts Writing. - A reduction in the number of test items in the Reading Comprehension component of English Language Arts. - A reduction in the number of test items in Mathematics. - The Adoption of the revised framework for the next three years, that is 2021-2023. There are some items which have not changed such as thinking skills to be tested. The length of the exams remains the same. The scoring of the examination scripts is also unchanged as well as the criteria for placement. The SEA Examination is scheduled for the 10th of June 2021.
