Protesters, deploring the murders of young women like Ashanti Riley and Andrea Bharatt, gathered outside the Parliament on Friday.
The group waved placards and raised their voices as Members of Parliament headed into Friday's sitting of the Lower House.
23-year-old Andrea Bharatt was kidnapped on January 29th and her body was found on Thursday, February 4th. Similarly, 18-year-old Ashanti Riley was reported missing on November 29th - her body was found days later on December 4th, in a river in Santa Cruz.
The protesters indicated that they gathered in response to a social media post from Ms Mohammed. The post said she would be protesting for Parliamentary changes that would keep young women safe.
A male protester offered a few recommendations. The group, who promised to continue their protests indefinitely, shouted the names "Ashanti" and "Andrea" and called for change now.
