Women Want Pepper Spray Regulated

Enough is enough. That's the statement made by 23-year-old merchandiser Nalina Doodoon, speaking during a placard protest at the Family Mart Supermarket in Barrackpore, calling for increased safety for women. Ms Doodoon who is also a student at the University of Trinidad and Tobago is urging those in higher authority to work together to ensure sex offenders and criminals are not granted bail when a crime is committed. Ms Doodoon wants Government to ensure women are equipped with all the tools necessary, including pepper spray, to have a fighting chance at saving their lives. Meanwhile, Trade Marketing Supervisor at AS Brydens and Son, Mithoon Hardeo, wants something to be done about the current PH Taxi system in this country. He believes something needs to be done urgently to protect the women in society. A number of employees at the Family Mart Supermarket wore red today (Friday) following a call on social media to support increased Safety for Women.
