MSJ: Get Tough With PH Drivers, Stop The Objectification Of Women

The Movement for Social Justice is calling on Government to give PH drivers a three-month moratorium to get their business in order. The MSJ held a Media Conference on Sunday to share their concerns about the spate of violence against women in the wake of the kidnapping and murder of Andrea Bharatt. Deputy Political Leader of the MSJ, Radhica Galbanse, pointed out that the young and the working class depend on public transport and as such, it needs to be made reliable, safe and efficient. Ms. Galbanse said the issuing of license plates needs to be regularised and even suggested that license plates be outfitted with microchips. She called on Government to get tough on Private for Hire, or PH taxi drivers. Ms. Galbanse said there seems to be a total breakdown of society and a loss of value systems. Political Leader of the MSJ, David Abdullah, said the objectification of women must come to an end, particularly by changing the images and messages being communicated in our music and mainstream media.
