A coordinator at NADAPP is urging the population to celebrate the Carnival season safely at home. Lyra Thompson-Hollingsworth says with Carnival 2021 cancelled, coupled with a restriction on in-house dining at bars, alcohol consumption will be determined in the household. She is urging people to keep their gatherings small and to observe good drinking practices. Ms. Thompson-Hollingsworth reminds that alcohol should not be viewed as a coping mechanism, and persons should reach out to others if they believe they have a drinking problem. The NADAPP Coordinator says they do have information that there has been an increase in people calling with drinking problems since the pandemic, and is urging anyone with issues to call 877-WELL.
