Family Must Be The Focus For 2021

Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, says Trinidad and Tobago's Revival for 2021 must begin with the acceptance that the family is the focal point for any significant change within society. Minister Cox delivered the feature address at a three-day virtual event, "Revival 2021 and Beyond," hosted by the Family Focus Broadcasting Network. The event is a call for action - spiritual action for real changes in Trinidad and Tobago and the role of the church in nation building. Minister Cox said family values, or their very absence in so many spheres of public life, have resulted in this country being in the position in which it finds itself today. Minister Cox said through the various interventions at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services, they are not only giving people a fish for a day, but concentrating rather on teaching them to fish for life. However, she said there must be a holistic approach to empowering the vulnerable and the marginalised in society.
