Forty officials from the public sector are now better equipped to correspond with Spanish speaking Nationals in Trinidad and Tobago. The group is the latest cohort to receive their 'Basic Spanish' certificates after completing the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs' Spanish for Public Servants Course. Facilitated by the Chilean Embassy, the first instalment took place from January to February 2020. Ambassador of the Republic of Chile, Juan Anibal, said the initiative is meant to continue the cooperation between the two countries, despite the pandemic. One of the attendees said the course will be very useful to him since the classes were tailored to the public servants' specific job and duties.
