Greater Standard Of Conduct Required From Senators

Senate President Christine Kangaloo has called for a greater standard of maturity in the Upper House. Speaking in the Senate on Tuesday, she stated there have been several matters of misconduct including crosstalk, debating loudly, side talk across the floor, improper wearing of masks, and instances of cell phones ringing. Ms. Kangaloo added that Senators have also been seen congratulating their colleagues' 'misconduct,' and believes the nation deserves better. Ms. Kangaloo pointed out that the minimum age requirement for a Senator is 25 years, while in the House of Representatives that requirement is just 18 years of age. This, she said, shows that a greater standard of conduct is required in the Senate.
