T&T Allocated 426,000 COVID-19 Vaccines Via AMSP

Trinidad and Tobago could potentially receive an additional 200,000 COVID-19 vaccines via the African Medical Supplies Platform (AMSP). Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh stated previously that this country was allocated around 226,000 doses. However, speaking in the Senate on Tuesday, he said that quantity has been increased significantly, and added that Government is awaiting details. Minister Deyalsingh stated that Government continues to pursue several avenues for vaccines, including bilateral talks with India and China, among others, as well as vaccine manufacturers. He confirmed that the 108,000 vaccines via the COVAX facility are expected to be delivered to this country by the end of March.
