Venezuela Hoping For Better Relations With US

The Ambassador of Venezuela, Carlos Perez, says he is hoping for better relations with the US. Speaking on the NOW Morning Show, he said with the change in the administration they can only watch and anticipate the best. Mr. Perez said so far there have been no changes in US policy toward Venezuela, so they continue to face sanctions. Referencing a scheduled repatriation flight recently, he said Venezuelans are now attempting to return home, basically for economic reasons. The Ambassador assured the Venezuelans who return home will not be punished, saying they have not committed any crime. He said his Government is also happy that T&T is re-registering those Venezuelans who choose to stay here giving them certain opportunities.
