Door Open For Unions To Return To NTAC

The door is open for the Trade Union Sector to return to the National Tripartite Advisory Council. The statement from the Minister of Planning and Development, Camille Robinson-Regis. In a media release, Minister Robinson-Regis says on Tuesday, the 27th Meeting of the Council was held. She says although she was not present, she was advised that the Council completed an agenda which covered a total of approximately 30 very in-depth items, and exited the meeting filled with expectation and optimism. Minister Robinson-Regis says while they are not in any way dismissive of whatever may be the concerns of the Trade Union Sector, they are not ruling out the fact that the door is open for them to return to NTAC where they can be most effective. On Tuesday, the Trade Union Sector listed job losses and the absence of labour legislation from the Parliament as two of their reasons for withdrawing from the NTAC.
