Tobago Scholar Celebrated

It was an evening of celebration on Wednesday for Tobago's lone National Scholarship winner Treverra James. The Division of Education, Innovation and Energy hosted a simple function to recognise her achievement. The National Scholarship winner expressed immense gratitude for the celebratory gesture. She noted that though she devoted time to her academics, she was also fully involved in various clubs at her school, sports, and also establishing her own small baking business, The Sweet Hour. She explained however, that her achievement was not without its challenges but stressed that perseverance is a key to success. Describing her achievement as a clear demonstration of the school's aim to produce well-rounded students, Principal Cindy Ramnarine said all of Bishop's High celebrates with Treverra. Education Secretary Marslyn Melville-Jack, expressing pride in Treverra's achievement for Tobago, stressed that determination, dedication and desire with balance are of paramount importance for students to excel in a similar manner.
