Deputy Mayor of Port of Spain, Hillan Morean, is appealing to the Minister of Local Government and the Statutory Authorities Service Commission to intervene where dangerous projects exist in the city. He's calling for prompt action before someone dies. Speaking during Wednesday's City Council's Statutory Meeting, Mr. Morean lamented the length of time it takes the City's Engineering Department to respond to issues. Mr. Morean highlighted two incidents where persons were injured because the department failed to respond to requests by councillors. One incident had been brought to the administration's attention in 2015.
