A Chaguanas man was fatally shot by police on Friday. The TTPS in a media release said at around 9:35am, two officers were in a marked police vehicle on mobile patrol in Enterprise. During the patrol, the officers stopped a vehicle along Enterprise Street, Enterprise. The TTPS said as the officers approached the vehicle, they saw the driver, Jade Phillip, pointing a firearm towards them. One of the policemen fired in the direction of the suspect, who then fled the vehicle . According to the TTPS, Phillip was shot during a struggle with the officers while they were attempting to arrest him. He was handcuffed and immediately taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he was pronounced dead. One pistol was recovered by police.
