Kiss Recalls Products In Trinidad Over Possible Plastic Contamination

The Kiss Baking Company is today noting social media postings about the integrity of its baked food supply. On Saturday images of bags of Kiss bread being disposed of went viral with a message that the company had recalled the product due to glass contamination. A release from company General Manager, Rene De Gannes, notes that a number of bread products manufactured on Friday 23rd were recalled on Saturday 24th April. This was due to the possibility that a piece of plastic may have contaminated a loaf of bread. The company notes that it is highly unlikely that this occurred, but out of an abundance of caution they removed all bread that may have been affected by the piece of plastic from Trinidad. The products recalled were all large, sliced sandwich loaves, Hot Dog bread, Coconut buns and Healthy Balance wholegrain buns The statement notes that Tobago is not affected by the recall. The company also notes that anyone feeling any doubt or concern will be refunded the full value of the loaf or loaves via the retailer from which the product was purchased.
