New PNM Senator Takes Oath Of Office

A new PNM Senator has taken the Oath of Office, following the vacancy created on the Government Bench in the Senate after the passing of Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Franklin Khan. Senator Imam Sheraz Ali was sworn in after correspondence was received from President Paula-Mae Weekes, upon the advice of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley. Senator Imam Ali is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and holds a BSc in Agriculture, Arabic & Islamic Studies, and a MSc in Food Science and Technology. He is currently enrolled at the UWI St. Augustine where he is reading for a PhD in Agricultural Extension. He is also the Imam at the Nur-e-Islam Masjid, founder for Islamic Relief, Support and Training, and a Certified Mediator accredited by the Mediation Council of Trinidad and Tobago.
