Education Ministry Relaxes SEA Uniform Rules

The Ministry of Education has made adjustments to their school uniform policy to accommodate students writing the 2021 SEA Examination. The Ministry says it is mindful many students may have outgrown their school uniforms, given their physical absence from school since March 2020. As such, the Education Ministry has granted permission for students to wear their school's PE uniform or other school apparel, once it bears the school logo. Students will also be allowed to wear footwear that deviates from the standard colour. The Ministry says parents or guardians must seek approval from the School Principal if their child is unable to wear the school uniform, PE uniform, or other school apparel with the school's logo, or footwear of the standard colour. Principals must also guide parents or guardians regarding suitable attire to be worn in the absence of the school uniform, PE uniform, or other school apparel with the school's logo. The SEA Exam is scheduled for June 10th.
