Works Minister Assures Caigual Bailey Bridge Passable

Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan is assuring that the bailey bridge along Second Caigual in Manzanilla is passable and only asphalt works remain outstanding. Recent videos on social media showed a drop at the beginning of the bridge which made it impassable for cars and even some pickups to traverse the area. But Minister Sinanan confirmed to TTT News that the bailey bridge located along the Caigual Road was closed from Wednesday, May 5th to Friday, May 7th for remedial works. A media release from the Ministry of Works and Transport last Wednesday stated that the temporary works were a result of the recent inclement weather which caused mild scoring of the abutment. The Minister confirmed that works were completed and that the approaches were levelled, assuring that the bridge is once again passable. He says the remaining asphalt works may not be completed at this point due to the recent COVID-19 restrictions but assured that it will be conducted in time.
