More Beds For COVID-19 Patients

One hundred and ten beds have been added at the ward-level in the parallel health care system. Principal Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards, said the Ministry of Health along with several Regional Health Authorities added the beds over the weekend. Dr. Abdool-Richards said this represents a fourth level of care within the parallel health care system, which can treat people who are recovering from COVID-19 but are not yet fit to go home. The addition of beds has increased the capacity in the system to 662.
