Gov't Committed To Digital Transformation

Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Brian Manning, is assuring that Government remains committed to advancing digital transformation, especially in the New Normal. He says Government will implement a developmental model which is anchored on the newly-emerging digital economy, and has recognised the competitive advantages it will have to both State and private enterprises. Mr. Manning notes that Government continues to work on enhancing and creating accessibility for many Government services online. This has already been started with the Salary Relief Grants recently announced. While he says access to services via online means is a step forward, the Minister believes accessibility should just be the tip of the iceberg. The Minister says Government will continue to facilitate the implementation of several major projects including student broadband availability, nationwide 4G and 5G networks, development of a national digital database, and free public WiFi.
