Sinopharm Vaccinations Begin - Tobago Receives 1,500 Doses

The Ministry of Health says it has passed its daily target for administering the recently-acquired Sinopharm vaccines. The figures from the various Regional Health Authorities are: SWRHA - 394 NWRHA - 249 NCRHA - 678 ERHA - 310 TRHA - 112 That's a total of 1,698 persons being vaccinated today, on the resumption of the Vaccination Programme. Tobago's rollout of the 1,500 doses of the Sinopharm vaccines has also begun. At Friday's Division of Health Update, Acting General Manager Primary Care, Dr. Roxanne Mitchell, noted that vaccine administration began at 9am at Scarborough and Roxborough Health Centres and continued at Canaan at noon. She said there has been positive public reception to this particular COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, Acting Medical Chief of Staff, Dr. Victor Wheeler, informed that adjustments have been made to the services provided at the Scarborough General Hospital to reduce human traffic. Secretary for Health, Wellness and Family Development Tracy Davidson-Celestine also noted that there has been an increase in manpower to ensure optimum care is provided during this pandemic.
