Most prizes for the 2020 Port of Spain Down Town Carnival have been distributed. Mayor of Port of Spain, Joel Martinez, distributed the prize for the winner of the Large Band category to Peter Samuel for his band, Mas' Theatre, and the winner of the Medium Band category, K2K's Sonia Spence on Wednesday. The 2020 Carnival celebrations took place shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic forced this country to close our borders. Mr. Samuel, noted that the prize money for the winner of the Large Band category was not a significant amount, but it would assist him in sustaining his mas camp. The prize distribution took place at City Hall in Port of Spain.
