TT Cyclist Teniel Campbell Finishes 28th At Dwars door het Hageland

Olympic-bound TT cyclist Teniel Campbell earned an impressive top 30 finish in the tough Dwars door het Hageland in Belgium on Sunday, getting plaudits from her teammates for a gutsy ride. The top TT professional finished 28th overall and admitted making mistakes which might have cost her an even better finish, possibly even a podium spot. She battled the gravel roads in a chaotic edition of the Dwars, a Belgian race which is characterised by its small, narrow and twisty gravel road sectors, which made for a frantic start to the race as teams battled for position ahead of the first 'off-road' stretch. Campbell found herself as the lone BikeExchange rider among the leading pack as the finish line neared in the 122-kilometre grind. But she was outnumbered by the other teams and suffered at the repeated attacks, and finally lost contact approaching the final gravel section.
