Promoting Safe Food Principles

When talking about safe food, we should also be talking about "unsafe" food. This, from Minister of Agriculture, Land & Fisheries, Clarence Rambharat. Speaking at the Cropper Foundation's Launch of their Public Awareness Campaign promoting SAFE Food principles to consumers in Trinidad and Tobago, Minister Rambharat said unsafe foods can be broken up into two categories -foods that are inherently unsafe, and foods that are fit for consumption but some intervention has made them unsafe. The campaign was launched for World Food Safety Day, which is commemorated on June 7th under the theme "SAFE Food Now for a Healthy Tomorrow." The Minister said the way food is disposed also needs to be addressed.
