New measures are being put in place at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca. This is in response the shocking discovery of C4 explosive, automatic weapons and ammunition being found outside the walls of the facility on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner of Prisons, Shamshudeen Mohammed described the discovery as alarming. DCP Mohammed said the matter is receiving the full attention of the Prison Service. In 2015 prisoners escaped from the Central Police Station on St. Vincent Street in Port of Spain. During that prison break two persons, PC Sherman Maynard and prisoner, Allan 'SCANNY' Martin died.
