Keshorn Walcott Throws Season's Best In Finland

Finding form at precisely the right time, that's T&T's former Olympic Champion Keshorn Walcott, who looks to be in good shape heading to Tokyo. Less than a month away from the start of the Games, Walcott, the 2012 Olympic Javelin Gold Medalist, uncorked a season's best 89.12-metres with his second throw at the Kuortane Games in Finland on Saturday. Walcott, who has been campaigning in Europe in recent weeks, opened the event with a solid 79.04-metres, which saw him slip to third place behind Germany's Johannes Vetter 88.96 and India's Neeraj Chopra 83.21 after round one. But the man from Toco then produced a season's best 89.12 with his second attempt, which saw him jump up to second behind Vetter, who extended his lead with a stunning 93.59-metres with his second attempt, which won him the gold medal. Walcott will be back in action on Tuesday in Lucerne, Switzerland, hoping to maintain his form as he fine tunes his preparation for th upcoming Olympics.
