T&T Ready For Effects Of Elsa

As Tropical Storm Elsa strengthened into the first Atlantic Hurricane in the Caribbean on Friday, the Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan, says his Ministry is in a position to respond quickly if severe flooding occurs across Trinidad and Tobago. The Minister says several Divisions, such as Drainage and Highways, are on full alert should the situation change. He also notes that the Ministry's desilting programme is ongoing in spite of the pandemic. Minister Sinanan says Phase One is completed, Phase Two is almost complete, and Phase Three is about to begin.
