Clearly Defined Roles Needed For Innovation

Businesses should be rooted in a purpose and vision to allow for more innovation and collaboration. This is the belief of Consulting Leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Zia Paton, who was part of a panel on Day One of AMCHAM's Tech Hub Islands Summit on Monday. Ms. Paton believes there is a role for everyone in an organisation but, in many instances, the roles have not been clearly defined. Ms. Paton says there needs to be cultural change as persons are fearful of making mistakes. In the same vein, Executive Director of Republic Bank, Derwin Howell, says companies should also learn how to manage risk as opposed to avoiding it. And the CEO of PBS Technology Group says as companies continue to find ways to innovate their services, they should encourage inclusion and diversity of ideas. AMCHAM's Three-Day Conference is meant to generate discussion on this country's digital transformation journey, where it should be heading, and the steps needed to achieve those goals.
