Contractors Optimistic As Construction Sector Opens

In the last six months, the construction sector has experienced a decline in cashflow, and losses attributed to the slowdown in construction since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This, according to President of the Trinidad and Tobago Contractors Association (TTCA) Glenn Mahabirsingh. However, he said contractors are optimistic things will pick back up in the sector. Mr. Mahabirsingh said the deterioration of materials on site, as well as an increase in security costs also contributed to further losses within the sector for many contractors. Mr. Mahabirsingh was speaking on TTT's NOW Morning Show.
