Search Continues For Missing Carli Bay Fisherman

The search continues for one of two missing fishermen from Carli Bay, Couva. Fishermen in Carli Bay ventured out to sea for a second day in hopes of finding Navindra "Tallman" Garib, who disappeared at sea along with Parasram "Brain" Boodoo. The two men did not return on Monday night after going out to fish in the Gulf of Paria. On Tuesday, Cedros police found the boat they left in washed ashore at Granville. Its engine was under the home of a resident there. On Wednesday afternoon, Carli Bay fishermen searching the area found Boodoo's body off the Point Lisas Port. TTT News was told his body was positively identified by a family member. Thirty year old Garib, an experienced fisherman, took a break from fishing following an incident in 2019 after pirates attacked and killed five fishermen from Orange Valley. The two year anniversary of that incident is today, July 22nd. The President of the Carli Bay Fishing Association is again pleading with the authorities to improve security for fishermen in the area.
