The Chutney Soca Fraternity is mourning the death of Anil Soogrim, the Drummer for the band Dil E Nadan. Band leader of Dil E Nadan, Raymond Ramnarine, posted a tribute to Soogrim via their Facebook page. The band said: “Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, Unseen, Unheard, but always near. Anil Soogrim, a true brother, a team player. Gone too soon!” Chutney Soca Artist, Nisha Bissambar, better known as Nisha B of the band Ravi B & Karma, said she was in absolute shock at the passing of the friend and fellow musician. She said although he played for another band, Soogrim would always congratulate her on her achievements. And Chutney Soca Queen Drupatee Ramgoonai described Soogrim as a very talented drummer who she knew since the days of Tri-veni Brass. Details of Soogrim's death were not divulged.
