Due to an increase in people filing for divorce, a co-parenting programme has been launched to help former couples devise a plan to ensure their children are not adversely affected. Minister of Sport and Community Development, Shamfa Cudjoe, notes that from 2019 to 2020, there was an increase in dissolved relationships. This is why she says the Co-Parenting Group Therapy Intervention was created. The group equips parents exiting romantic relationship and marriages with the knowledge and skills to continue to work with their former partners for the development of their child. The Minister adds that 11 modules of the Co-Parenting Programme will be conducted virtually over the next 12 months to help provide the skills needed to parents. The programme will benefit 180 persons over three 'four-month cycles' over the next year.
