Break The Poverty Barrier With Education

Neki Mohan, a US-based journalist who grew up in Trinidad and Tobago, is urging young women and girls to put their education first. Speaking virtually during a meeting hosted by the Rotary Club of Maraval, Ms. Mohan says she is tired of seeing generations of poverty down the line, and wants girls to prioritise their education. Ms. Mohan, who was born in Brooklyn, New York to West Indian parents but grew up in Trinidad, said she was lucky to have a 'great education' in Trinidad which laid the foundation for her career in journalism. Neki Mohan went to Belmont Girls RC School and Holy Name Convent, before moving back to the US with her family, where she's so far worked in ten TV stations, including anchoring a number one rated morning show.. The former anchor meanwhile praised news presenters here in Trinidad and Tobago. Ms. Mohan is now the CEO of her own consulting and media company in the US.
