Young Adult Male Succumbs To COVID-19

A young adult male with no pre-existing conditions has succumbed to COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago. He is one of seven COVID-related deaths that were recorded by the Ministry of Health in the past 24 hours. The Ministry of Health, in its clinical update, said the persons were four males and three females, two of whom had no co-morbidities Their deaths take the COVID-related death toll to 1,244. The Ministry also confirmed that 199 new positive cases of the virus. Those results were from samples taken between August 20th to August 23rd. The total number of active positive cases is 5,097. To date, over 800,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Trinidad and Tobago, So far, 372,614 persons are fully vaccinated, 490,958 have received their first dose.
