Caribbean Airlines Boeing 737-8 aircraft took to the skies for the first time today. The airline’s Boeing 9Y-CAL maiden jet service departed the Piarco International Airport destined to the Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica. At a brief ceremony to launch the new aircraft, CAL’s CEO Garvin Medera said among the lessons learnt in the last two years was how to thrive in chaos and adapt in uncertainty. He said in learning to live with COVID-19, there exists opportunities for tourism and travel to 'RE-think' and 'RE-tool.' Mr. Medera said this week, CAL launched its new campaign: 'REset Expectations.' He said one of the most anticipated features of the new campaign is the renewal of their fleet with the most technologically advanced aircraft in the world: the 737-8. Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan, said the inaugural flight was a proud moment for CAL, the Government, and the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago
